The West Coast Chapter is honored to receive the Association Award at the Oregon Governor’s Occupational Safety & Health Conference.

Association Award – West Coast Chapter of ADSC-IAFD
The ADSC – International Association of Foundation Drilling (IAFD) is a construction trade group focused on drilled shafts, anchored earth retention, and micropile technologies.
Accomplishments include:
- Unite members through annual meetings and training programs so members can share knowledge and experience in addressing workplace safety, health, and wellness challenges.
- Advancing development of certification program for drill rig operators. Working with the National Commission for the Certification of Crane Operators, program’s goal is to boost worker safety and productivity.
- Forged alliance with Oregon OSHA to promote safety and raise awareness to reduce illness and injury rates in the deep foundation construction industry.

The most important thing we have learned about safety and health is that a company’s safety culture starts “at the top”. If a company’s most senior personnel are involved with developing and implementing safety policies and procedures, these practices are more likely to be successfully used in the field.
Our next top safety goal is:
Our Chapter’s next top safety goal is to work with our international organization on developing and implementing standards for ‘Safe Working Platforms’ for drilling equipment.
