$40,000 dollars raised at the 40th Annual Meeting!
The West Coast Chapter traveled to Monterey, CA for our 40th Annual Meeting. The Hyatt Regency was a great setting for this momentous occasion with record attendance.
Golf Tournament at Del Monte and Welcome Reception
Del Monte, a Pebble Beach golf course, provided a beautiful and challenging setting for the golf tournament and our 60 golfers. A big thank you to all our golfers and generous sponsors. Additionally, a special thank you goes to Jeff and Amy Ohlson with Williams Form Engineering for organizing the golf tournament; also a shout-out to Katelyn Drennan (Williams Form) for all the golf photographs.
Later during the Welcome Reception, it was great to see familiar faces along with our first-time attendees. We presented the well-earned golf awards and celebrated like only the WCC can.

Education
One of the main purposes of the West Coast Chapter is the education and training of both our current and future members. For Friday’s Education Session, organized by Ray Fassett (Condon-Johnson & Associates) and Matt Jannings (Pacific Foundation) assembled an informative and valuable session. For something special in honor of the 40th, we had a photographer providing headshots for all attendees.
The chapter provided lodging and registration for a total of 15 students and professors from UC Irvine and Santa Clara University. Thanks to the student attendee sponsors: Case Pacific, Condon-Johnson & Assoc., Keller Foundation, and Sinclair.
We dedicated the afternoon to 40 years of WCC. Ray Fassett assembled a fascinating timeline of ADSC history and WCC goals and achievements and moderated a panel of ADSC esteemed statesmen including Mike Hayes, Bruce Long, Alan Macnab, and David Watson; and we were lucky to have the very first (and multiple further terms) WCC President, Barry Kannon on hand to contribute to the interesting and entertaining conversation. The main take away is that the Chapters spread the word about ADSC and with the backing of ADSC we have greater impact at state level. When asked what had changed in 40 years of drilling, David Watson offered that drilling is better without steam (a reference to 100 years of Watson), and the laughs continued throughout the afternoon! Anne Lemnitzer mentioned the impact of the ADSC Faculty Workshop on her career; a great example of what the ADSC can do.

We took a moment to celebrate the lives of Horst and Hildegard Aschenbroich and their long-time generous support of the WCC; followed by recognizing PJ’s Rebar for their $10,000 sponsorship for our 40th Anniversary.
