Our thanks to Sinclair Well Products & Equipment for hosting the 2020 West Coast Chapter Winter Board Meeting.
We welcomed several first-time attendees as well as many of our long-time attendees. WCC Past Presidents Ray Fassett, Condon-Johnson, and Will Gehrke, Case Pacific, were there to lend their guidance.
Local 302 Drill Rig Operator training program is scheduled for March 27-29 in Ellensburg, WA.
Our committees continue to meet and work closely with the DOT’s throughout the chapter region.
Anna Perkins, Case Pacific, is seeking feedback from members regarding the creation of a silica sampling results database.
There was a lot of discussion on the NCCCO Drill Rig Operator Certification Program and how the chapter can best assist our members with testing and certification. The first priority is to offer practical exams for the 24, or so, who have already passed the written exams. The chapter has contracted with Bob Federighi (formerly Condon-Johnson) to be the practical exam practitioner for the WCC. Bob is already authorized to give the Foundation Drill Rig exam and will (soon!) be authorized for the Anchor/Micro-Pile exam. Condon-Johnson will host a Foundation Drill Rig practical exam followed by an Anchor/Micro-Pile exam early this spring at their Livermore location. Those two exams will only cover a portion of the 24 needing to complete their certification, so we hope to schedule more very soon. We need a volunteer to host practical exams in the Pacific Northwest.
Timing allowed us to have four special presentations: our host Sinclair Products (Alberto Santarossa); GeoStructural Engineering (Andre Hawks); BAUER Equipment (Mike Minihan); and Case Pacific (Cameron Lane). There are two slots available for Associate Presentations at the Annual Meeting, those presenters will be selected randomly from the list of volunteers in early February.
We have four candidates for three open board of director positions to be voted upon at the Annual Meeting. A big thank you to Matt Jannings, Pacific Foundation; Mike Minihan, BAUER Equipment; Josh Hilton, Condon-Johnson; and John Burns, CZM, for volunteering to serve the chapter.
REGISTRATION IS OPEN: Our 36th Annual Meeting is May 14-16, 2020 back at our home away from home at The Cliffs Resort in Pismo Beach. We have a great Education Session lined up for Friday, May 15th including case studies from a number of our members as well as guest speaker Rick Marshall, ADSC Safety Director. More information about the West Coast chapter Annual Meeting can be found on our website http://adscwest.org/
