Our thanks to everyone who joined us for our 2021 Winter Board E-Meeting. We had a good turnout for the meeting, including a few guests considering membership, a handful of Past Presidents and many hopeful raffle-ticket holders. Here are some of the highlights from that meeting:
DOT & Labor Committees: While work continues for our members, COVID has many of the committees unable to meet. Good news is that the WSDOT committee has some tentative future meeting dates; we are working with Oregon OSHA to explore another Safety in Drilling course for them; and we continue working with Local3 about a Drill Rig Operator’s course and possible NCCCO Practical Exams sometime soon, (this spring would have normally been our time to hold a school with them).
NCCCO ADSC Drill Rig Operator Certification Task Force: The WCC continues to encourage members to strive for NCCCO certification for their employees, we remind everyone that Bob Federighi is available to come to your location with the necessary testing apparatus. 2021 Raffle to benefit WCC Industry Advancement Fund and WCC: We incorporated a raffle into the board meeting to raise funds for the West Coast Chapter Industry Advancement Fund and the WCC. We encouraged donors to provide prizes that offered an adventure, something the winner could look forward to doing when it is easier to be together – they responded with an assortment of amazing items, from golf to fishing trips, a hot air balloon ride over Napa, and the Grand Prize Disneyland/Universal Park package. The raffle added a fun element to the meeting, it is something we will probably try at a future meeting. We raised over $15,000!! Thanks a million, to Jeff Veilleux, PJ’s Rebar, for pulling this all together and working hard to sell tickets. Thanks so very much to our donors for offering prizes that tantalized!
